If you entered my Blogaversary giveaway you had a chance to score a giftcard to Darling Girl Cosmetics. Each lucky winner got a giftcard to shop with in addition to their prize pack. I personally love Darling Girl because the eyeshadows are great quality and always so unique. The shop owner, Susan, obviously puts a lot of love into her work since the products turn out so gorgeous and amazing!! She has really cool collections, one of my faves was based on the Hunger Games. The FOTD today uses one of the Only One Can Win, Hunger Games inspired shadows called Boy with the Bread. Check all these out!!
I’ve decided my skin tone is the absolute worst for swatching any neutrals! Surfrider is actually a really gorgeous color and this swatch does nothing to show it off! It’s an orange peachy color with some shimmer to it. It also leans beige some in my opinion. I love using it as a highlight color. It’s actually being discontinued and is in the Bye-Bye section of the Darling Girl website. So if you want it, now is the time to grab it!! There’s a lot of other great stuff in there too!
The next color is called Tragic Romance. It’s one of my favorite purple shadows, EVER! It’s a pretty reddish purple that’s not too crazy or dark. Since it’s not an overpowering purple, it plays better with other colors. At least I think so.
The blue color is called Chasing Waterfalls and is no longer available. It’s a pretty medium to light blue color which I think could easily be substituted for Blue Monday that is currently available on the Darling Girl website. I’m almost out of my Chasing Waterfalls, and I think that is what I’ll be ordering to replace it with.
Last but no least is one of my favorite colors!! The Boy with the Bread! This is a gorgeous brown color with a ton of blue in it. It flashes so much blue in the swatch pic for you, showoff!! The way this one looks in person is quite stunning. On me, it tends to show about half brown, half blue which is really gorgeous together. Some really gorgeous swatch pics of the entire collection were done on the Prettymaking blog. Some FOTD pics for you then something I must share….. (suspense)
Maybe now you see why I typically only post the eye part of my pics, hahaha! I have to practically put the camera on my face to get a decent picture. So we’re gonna get personal today, REAL personal. (◑‿◐) Hope ya don’t mind too much! Somehow I never remember to put on a lippy until AFTER I take pics. *facepalm* I used all the colors in the swatches, hopefully you’re able to identify them in my up close and personal pic. The Boy with the Bread is on my lid, Chasing Waterfalls is lightly applied above the lid into the crease. Tragic Romance above the crease and Surfrider to blend and highlight. My liner is an old Urban Decay liquid liner in Smog. I wish I had more of this one… sigh.
What’s the news? Well, you will be seeing a lot of Darling Girl from me for a little bit. I’m currently a “Glamour Girl” and will be posting looks to the Darling Girl Facebook page.
