Butter London says “Long Live Colour” and I am FULLY in agreement!!!!!!!!! Butter London is on the verge of releasing a Rock Your Colour collection of cosmetics on August 1st! YES, cosmetics! Intrigued? I know I was!!!
Here’s part of the upcoming collection…
Wink Cream Eyeshadow in Indigo Punk.
It is extremely high-pigmented!! There is a doe-foot applicator for this shadow. I used the applicator but blended partly with my finger and partly with a brush. The Indigo Punk cream shadow color is an amped up, pearlescent, shimmery lavender with a bit of blue-chrome. The shadow starts out semi-sheer but builds up easily and quickly. I used one coat on my inner lid and built the color up more into the crease. I think a good primer under this is necessary. I did get a bit of creasing without primer. I have super oily lids though….perhaps less oily lids will fare better! Retail is $18.
I was lucky to get two of the Wink Eye pencils. The colors I got are Indigo Punk and Union Jack Black. Indigo Punk is a shimmery deep purple. Union Jack Black is a creamy jet black. The Wink eye pencils are silky smooth to apply and are designed to last 24 hours. I didn’t wear mine 24 hours, I did wear them all day and nothing budged. Union Jack Black even remained on my waterline. I have trouble finding liners that will stay, this one did the trick. I also used Union Jack Black on my brows. No smudges!
These beauties retail at $18.
I kinda love these Coloured Mascaras!!! I have dark lashes. I own quite a few colored mascaras that just don’t show. The Butter London Wink Coloured Mascara shows up without problem!!! Brown Sugar is a deep chocolate-brown. I wore it at first with Indigo Punk on my tips only. After that I decided to play a bit and went full on with the Indigo Punk. I used it on my brows over the Union Jack Black liner. The color payoff is excellent!!!
The Wink Coloured Mascaras retail $20 and come in 6 shades.
I was happy to see a cream blush in the collection. I use cream blush more than powder in the sweat-laden Florida summers. Abbey Rose Cheeky cream blush (love the name!) is a pinkish, rosy cheek cream. It’s pretty close to my natural cheek flush when applied lightly. I love this stuff. It comes in a sleek and beautiful compact. This product is also very well pigmented. A little goes a long way!!!!
Coconut Frock is a beautiful sheer nude, peachy lip gloss. I was surprised at how much this color showed on my lips since my lips are a darker color than the gloss. I am not sure if Coconut Frock is part of the Rock Your Colour collection or if there are going to be separate lippy colors coming out with the collection. You can read the press release info here, on Temptalia’s blog. She has the details on the rest of the collection. There is no mention of Lippy glosses in the release. I have contacted Butter London for additional info and will post an update once I hear anything.
Lippy glosses retail $18.
Black Cherry Lippy Tinted Lip Balm is such a lovely vampy deep red. Don’t be fooled by this product being called a lip balm. I feel it is more of a super-moisturizing, silky and creamy lipstick. It is even in a lipstick tube. My lips felt so soft during and after wearing this. There will be 6 colors in the collection and I feel need for all of them!!! Retail $20.
Last but not least….
You didn’t think Butter London would release a new collection and ignore your nails, did you?! The six colors coordinate with the cosmetics for a matchy-matchy look. I’ve seen a lot of the matching trend lately. It’s funny that for a long time matching was such a no-no. Match it up now folks!!!! I really love that I got a lot of the Indigo Punk colored products. It is a really beautiful purple/violet/lavender color. The nail lacquer is a duo-chrome glitter that goes on really well. I layered 2 coats over a super dark and vampy purple on my index finger and white on my pinky.I applied it solo over my middle and ring fingers, 3 coats. Nail Lacquer retail $15.
All in all, I’m pretty impressed with the Butter London Rock Your Colour Bespoke Color Cosmetics Collection (say THAT 5 times fast, hahahaha)!!! Having cosmetics that are free of carcinogenic ingredients is a good thing. Having high quality and beautiful cosmetics that are free of carcinogens is an AMAZING thing!!!
Get out there and ROCK *YOUR* COLOUR!!
