There’s a reason why there are so many beauty box subscriptions out there! There are so many beauty companies and products available that you may never know about. I love that beauty subscriptions help us Beautyphiles find new and exciting things! I have a Beauty Box 5 to show you today.
Beauty Box 5 is a budget-friendly subscription service. The current rate is $12/month which includes free shipping! You are able to get the price down lower if you sign up for a longer subscription. The longer terms end up saving you $6-$45, depending on how long you want to go! Receiving a subscription box full of mystery pretties is like getting a present you’d actually want every month!
Beauty Box 5 has 5 samples inside a pretty robin egg blue box. The products could be anywhere from drugstore, luxury, new companies, and lots of other categories in between! You could even end up with something new from a brand you know and love.
SO, WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
This box had: a BH Cosmetics California Collection eyeshadow sample with 3 shadows; a full size Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick; Blum Naturals All Purpose Cleansing Wipes; a Jergens Natural Glow-3 Days to Glow Moisturizer sample; and a full size Bonne Belle Lip Definer pencil.
I received a sample set from BH Cosmetics. The 3 eyeshadows are part of a larger California Collection. These eyeshadows are very pigmented. My favorite out of this sample pack is San Francisco. The Hollywood shade is very pretty, but it does leave a little staining behind.
I have never used BH Cosmetics products before. They have a lot of other eyeshadow palettes that look very pretty! BH Cosmetics has full range of products on their site, not just eyeshadow!!
I had never heard of Nicka K New York before receiving this lipstick in my Beauty Box 5. Nicka K New York is an affordable US based brand. The shade I received is called Concerto. It is a coral-pink with lots of golden shimmer. It reminds me of a Nars Orgasm type color. I’m interested to try out some more Nicka K NY shades!
I have not tried the Jergens moisturizer yet. I am trying out another self-tanner at the moment.
I absolutely LOVE the Blum Naturals wipes!!!! The container is pretty small, which makes it really easy to keep in my car/purse/boat. Having kids means wipes are a necessity!!! These are nice little wipes, perfect size for a makeup touchup, lipstick color change, sticky hands, milk mustaches, you name it! They smell light and clean too. So cute!!! I think the container would be a great place to store crayons or something small in when it’s empty too. ^_^
I like the color of the Bonne Bell liner that I got in the box. It actually goes pretty well with the Nicka K New York lipstick! This is a decent liner, it is a little on the dry side. It is pigmented and does a good job of keeping your lipstick in its place. I haven’t used many Bonne Bell items. I found online that a store near me that I’ve browsed recently carries the products but I don’t recall seeing them. I will likely check it out soon.
This box had:
- BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow sample with 3 shadows. My estimate on retail of the 3 shadows is $3
- a full size Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick, retail $4.99
- Blum Naturals All Purpose Cleansing Wipes, retail $2.49
- Jergens Natural Glow-3 Days to Glow Moisturizer, approx retail $2.05
- Bonne Belle Lip Definer pencil, retail $3.95
I based the eyeshadow price on Wet N Wild 3 pans, and $1 Elf single shadows. All in all, the retail is around $16.48 which exceeds the cost of the subscription. Factor in shipping for BH Cosmetics, Nicka K New York, and possibly the rest of the products and that makes the savings much bigger. Also, you’ve saved time by not having to research and find the brands, then order them, etc.
Perhaps this pretty little box belongs on this list?
