Sexy Psycho, Morbidly Matching Mavens

Andrea from Addicted to the Allure of Beauty and I did another Notoriously Morbid Morbidly Matching Mavens match up look. This time we used a red eyeshadow. I am a lover of red eyeshadow personally. I love all reds and burgundy shades. It seems that red and burgundy enhance brown eyes. Maybe I’m just delusional or seeing what I want to see? Whatever works for you…. -_^

The shade from Notoriously Morbid we chose is called Sexy Psycho. Sexy Psycho is part of the Villans collection and its inspired by Harley Quinn. As of now, the shade is sadly not available. The shop is closed for the holidays and there is a shortage of carmine causing prices to skyrocket. Since there is carmine in this shade, it is NOT a vegan product. The shop will open back up after the beginning part of the 2015. I can’t wait!!!!!

I used several other Notoriously Morbid products.

Eyes: I Call it Mr. Pointy; Nothing is Trivial; Kompanion No.9 with Sexy Psycho

Face: Divination Blushes in Necromancy; Osteomancy; and Palmistry

Lips: Lipgloss for Leatherface with a tiny dab of Osteomancy

How this looks IRL. I wear glasses unless I’m sleeping or taking makeup pics. I’m sure you can tell why I don’t wear them in photos!!! LOVE my new glasses ( ˘ ³˘)❤

Notoriously Morbid is a cruelty-free company. They do offer a lot of Vegan items and the products are very clearly marked as being Vegan or Non-Vegan. I knew that carmine was an insect derived product. I recently learned that it actually takes about 70,000 female Dactylopius coccus insects to make ONE pound of cochineal. Cochineal contains carminic acid which is what carmine is. Carmine/carminic acid/cochineal is also known as Red number 4. FYI, carmine is used in cosmetics AND food products. Let that sink in. (sorry!)

Insects aside, this is a pretty eyeshadow!!! I apologize if this grosses you out or changes your ability to enjoy red cosmetics or food. I support cruelty-free products and companies as much as possible and hope to replace the few non-cruelty free items in my frequently used products soon! At the end of the day, it is a personal choice for everyone. I applaud companies like Notoriously Morbid for respecting their customers choices!
